As our collection and community grow, we need a passionate new team member to get hands-on with the heart of our business: the vinyl itself.

The Role: Part-Time Vinyl Operations Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team in Randburg for two days a week. In this critical, hands-on role, you will be directly responsible for ensuring the quality and care of our records from the moment they arrive to the moment they are sent to a new home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vinyl Grading & Quality Control: This is the core of the role. You will meticulously listen to and visually inspect our pre-loved vinyl records. You will be a key player in our grading process, identifying scratches, scuffs, warps, and other imperfections that may affect playback. Your ears and eyes will ensure our customers on www.vinyllegend.co.za receive exactly the quality they expect.

• Record Cleaning ]: You will be trained in our professional record cleaning process, carefully restoring the shine and sound of used vinyl to give it a new lease on life.

• Inventory Management & Organisation: Systematically sleeve, catalogue, and organise our growing collection. A tidy shelf is a happy shelf, and you'll ensure every record is correctly filed and stored, ready to be picked for an order.

• Order Fulfilment & Packing: You are the last line of quality control before a record reaches its new owner. You will carefully and securely package vinyl records for shipping, using our specialised mailers to protect them on their journey. Attention to detail here is paramount.

• General Operations Support: Assist with the day-to-day tasks that keep Vinyl Legend spinning. This could include stock-taking, organising supplies, and helping maintain a clean and efficient workspace.

Who We're Looking For:

• A True Music & Vinyl Enthusiast: You don't just listen to music; you feel it. A genuine passion for vinyl records is essential.

• An Attentive Listener: You have a good ear for detail and can discern the difference between a minor surface scuff and a skip-inducing scratch.

• Meticulous and Organised: You take pride in your work, whether it's perfectly aligning a record in its sleeve or packing a box securely.

• Reliable and Punctual: As a key part of a small team, we will be counting on you.

• Able to Work Independently: You are self-motivated and can manage your tasks efficiently throughout the day.

• Location: You must be able to reliably commute to our base in Randburg, Gauteng for your scheduled days.

• Bonus Points: Familiarity with the Goldmine Grading Standard would be a massive plus!
